Like no other escalator tool, the EsKalometer® pulls from the walk plate, not from the fixed external escalator frame. Because it measures at the trip point of the horizontal impact switch, the gap between the step plate and the walk plate can be measured and verified.

● With an optional skirt-step deflection test kit, the EsKalometer® can be converted to dynamically measure the loaded gap as the escalator moves up and down, recording the real time values on to your cell phone in order to have a video record. 

 

● The Digital Readout Scale measures total run out/measured gap and displays in 1/2 thousands of an inch or in 10ths of a millimeter.
